Album Review: Jigawa Gidane by Ubandoman Arewa

Ubandoman Arewa has finally released their long-awaited debut album Jigawa Gidane after an almost two-year-long wait (this counts from the first video release, not the day they announced the project). The most interesting thing about this album is that it’s 100% in Hausa language, and yet it still has managed to create quite a buzz online, with many Nigerians pledging their support for this new music genre as well as its artists. This is no easy feat considering that only 40% of Nigerians can speak and understand Hausa language.

The genre and style

This album is a heartfelt and nostalgic testimony of the culture, traditions, and struggles of the North Eastern Nigerian state of Jigawa. The African beats in each track are punctuated with inspirational lyrics that makes you want to keep listening. It will definitely be a favourite this season.

The instruments used

All Track prod by barister except 1 track prod by G.B Fatima featuring 5 best jigawa indigenous Musicians in cypher, mune, bazana barki ba which you to listen all best music that inside the album from episode 1 to episode 9 Listing and download for free in Fire Scott Records share with friends and lovers thank you.

The lyrics

have you heard about this album/episode called Jigawa Gidane
Produced entirely by Barister and one track produced by G.B Fatima but she featured the best five jigawa indigenous musicians in cypher, mune, bazana barki ba who helped her to create some of the most beautiful music you will ever hear in that album.

What I liked about it

Jigawa Gida is the newest album from Ubandoman Arewa, a veteran Hip hop / afro pop nigerian artist. The album is based in the state of Jigawa, and every track on it has different tunes about jigaway culture. Tracks like Mune, Bazana Barki Ba, and Oke Tu Ga are good examples of that.
This album was great.

What I disliked about it

I didn't enjoy the two tracks that were not produced by Barister. I would have preferred more of a collaboration with other artists in the area, as well as showcasing how diverse jigawa is. What's more, the album lacks in lyrical variety, and can be repetitive in terms of topic.
